I think most women dream about that moment they get to try on wedding dresses. Picking out your gown is one of the most exciting parts of planning your wedding. I had my moment back in 2009 and it was lovely. However, if I had the chance to do it again I would head straight to White of Dublin. This boutique located in downtown Dublin is to die for. From the  hardwood floors, the chandiler, the stunning dresses, they even serve champagne while you try on. For someone like me, it’s a little slice of heaven.

When Ashley and I were browsing the gowns, I was dying to ask Diane if I could try on a gown but I felt it would be unprofessional to ask. But then the BEST thing EVER happened….she asked if me I wanted to try on an Ian Stewart gown! Then they kept on coming. I really felt like I had died and gone to my own little White of Dublin heaven.

I wasn’t so sure about this Ian Stuart dress on the hanger but I’m telling you, once I put it on, it was to die for. There was no comparing the fit and feel of his gowns to any wedding gown I have ever tried on. Flower Bomb by Ian Stuart $7,000

Bettina by Junko Yoshioka

Leonor by Two by Rosa Clara $3,200. This was such a fun and flirty gown.

Melissa by Angel Rivera $3,330. It looks simple in the picture but the single draping on this gown was pure perfection.

Okay, this was from my cellphone but I couldn’t help it, I loved this shot. Chiara by Ines DiSanto $6,400. I wanted to take this dress home!

Diane was kind enough to do a little Q&A with me for the post, enjoy!

Q: How did you and your partner get started in the bridal business?
A: Heather and myself dreamed of our bridal boutique from the very first day we met 7 years ago. Since many brides from the Columbus area were traveling out of town seeking couture wedding gowns in a boutique setting, we decided to bring this luxury to Columbus. Our goal was to offer an intimate and comfortable experience to each bride while surrounded by elegance. We genuinely care about each bride and want each appointment to be magical.

Q. What sets White of Dublin apart from other wedding boutiques?
A: White of Dublin is unique in our level of customer service and intimate experience. Both Heather and I are accessible to their brides by personal cellphone. We are committed to ensuring each bride feels amazing on her wedding day.

Q: What designers do you carry at your boutique?
A: Bridal Designers: Ian Stuart, Sassi Holford, Angel Rivera, Rosa Clara and Two by Rosa Clara, Junko Yoshioka and Ines Di Santo.
Bridesmaids/Mothers: Noir by Lazaro, Ian Stuart, Collection 20 by Watters, and Wtoo by Watters.
Flower Girl: Us Angels.

Q: How far advance should a bride come in?
A: We recommend purchasing your gown at least 8 months before your wedding to ensure your gown arrives two months before your special day. This will allow time for final alterations to be completed before your wedding.

Q: What are the trends for this fall?
A: For fall weddings, we are seeing many brides looking to make their weddings unique by adding pops of color- sometimes with a sash, jewelry, flowers or even shoes! Also, a fashion forward trend is a peplum, which is a short flared strip of fabric attached at the waist of a bride’s gown.

Q: If you were getting married today, which dress would you each select in your boutique?
A: Heather-Beatrice by Sassi Holford.
Diane- Chloe by Sassi Holford with a Swarovski embellished sash.

Q: Any upcoming truck shows or events?
A: In the coming months, we have an Anne Barge trunk show scheduled as well as Sassi Holford and Angel Rivera trunk shows. Coming up in the early months of 2013, we have an Ian Stuart trunk show. We are very lucky to announce that we will be offering the White Wishes contest with Angel Rivera. One lucky bride will win her very own wedding gown by Angel Rivera! More details to follow…

Q: What is the price range for gowns at White of Dublin?
A: Aside from sample sales, wedding gowns at White of Dublin start at around $2,000

Q: What seems to be the most popular style gown that you’ve seen this year or that brides have requested?
A: We have found that many brides are requesting wedding gowns that have a sweetheart neckline and are a fit to flare silhouette. However, each bride is unique and we see many different styles being purchased.

After hearing this exciting news a few months ago at my CBC (columbus bridal consultants) group, I've been anxiously awaiting the official announcement. Well…the wait is over!
The Ivory Room is opening this September, it is located on the 6th floor of the Miranova building. Melissa Johnson, director of catering with Cameron Mitchell Restaurants describes the venue as having an upscale, urban-loft style decor, and views of downtown the Scioto and Olentangy river.
This venue seems to be right up my ally. I am looking forward to taking a tour with one of my current brides (I will be sure to tweet about the dets)

Ello my friends. I can't think of a better way to send you off into your weekend then a GIVEAWAY (insert cheers here). I recently had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Ellie and seeing her amazing work. These are such great gifts for any occasion. The idea of these mini magnets as wedding favors has me SO EXCITED. She has been kind enough to do a little Q&A with us, along with a giveaway of a set of 4 custom coasters and a magnet.

I had to show all the Ohio coasters, I love 'em!

How awesome are these race for the cure coasters?!

Tiny magnets! Adorbs!

Man gift

How did you get started creating coasters?
I grew up in a household where coasters were an absolute requirement. If there wasn't a coaster under a glass, I got scolded. As a result, I'm always scoping out coasters – at the bar, in stores, online, or at friend's houses. When I bought my townhouse 2 years ago, I could never find cute coasters that reflected me, my style, and my personality. So, I decided I'd make a set. I posted a couple pictures of my DIY project on Facebook and my friends went crazy. It took a while to fine-tune the process, but once I had it nailed down, the sky was the limit. If it can be glued, I can turn it into a coaster.

What is your most common pattern or print request?
The most common print request is for race bibs and personal photos. When it comes to patterns, it's all over the place. I've done a lot of the Ohio digital illustration sets in the stores in Columbus. They sell out every week!

If someone wants to place a custom order, how far in advance do you suggest they place their order?
Custom orders typically take a week to turn around, but that can vary depending on quantity. If you're ordering more than one set, I typically ask for 7-10 days to crank it out. Then of course you have to allow a couple days for shipping. I'd say the safe bet is to place an order 2 weeks in an advance. Especially if you're asking me to do some custom design!

Can couples get their engagement photos placed on the coasters or magnets?
Engagement photos can absolutely be on magnets and coasters. I've used wedding invitations, too, and they turn out really well. It's a fun way to save your invitation and remember the day.

Where can people purchase your work?
My coasters and magnets are currently for sale in 3 Central Ohio shops: Celebrate Local at Easton, PK Paper in Upper Arlington, and Simply Rising Cafe in Newark. I'm hoping to add some more boutiques to the repertoire soon, but that's it for now!

One thing to add is that I do not need to have original photos. I can use electronic images for everything. So, nothing gets sacrificed in the creation of the coasters! That's a big deal for brides who do not want to cut up their invitation, and runners who aren't ready to totally part with their race bib.

PRIZE: One set of 4 custom coasters and a magnet.
