Miranova and Cameron Mitchell join together

After hearing this exciting news a few months ago at my CBC (columbus bridal consultants) group, I’ve been anxiously awaiting the official announcement. Well…the wait is over!
The Ivory Room is opening this September, it is located on the 6th floor of the Miranova building. Melissa Johnson, director of catering with Cameron Mitchell Restaurants describes the venue as having an upscale, urban-loft style decor, and views of downtown the Scioto and Olentangy river.
This venue seems to be right up my ally. I am looking forward to taking a tour with one of my current brides (I will be sure to tweet about the dets)

Elegant Elliephant Giveaway

Ello my friends. I can’t think of a better way to send you off into your weekend then a GIVEAWAY (insert cheers here). I recently had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Ellie and seeing her amazing work. These are such great gifts for any occasion. The idea of these mini magnets as wedding favors has me SO EXCITED. She has been kind enough to do a little Q&A with us, along with a giveaway of a set of 4 custom coasters and a magnet.

I had to show all the Ohio coasters, I love ‘em!

How awesome are these race for the cure coasters?!

Tiny magnets! Adorbs!

Man gift

How did you get started creating coasters?
I grew up in a household where coasters were an absolute requirement. If there wasn’t a coaster under a glass, I got scolded. As a result, I’m always scoping out coasters – at the bar, in stores, online, or at friend’s houses. When I bought my townhouse 2 years ago, I could never find cute coasters that reflected me, my style, and my personality. So, I decided I’d make a set. I posted a couple pictures of my DIY project on Facebook and my friends went crazy. It took a while to fine-tune the process, but once I had it nailed down, the sky was the limit. If it can be glued, I can turn it into a coaster.

What is your most common pattern or print request?
The most common print request is for race bibs and personal photos. When it comes to patterns, it’s all over the place. I’ve done a lot of the Ohio digital illustration sets in the stores in Columbus. They sell out every week!

If someone wants to place a custom order, how far in advance do you suggest they place their order?
Custom orders typically take a week to turn around, but that can vary depending on quantity. If you’re ordering more than one set, I typically ask for 7-10 days to crank it out. Then of course you have to allow a couple days for shipping. I’d say the safe bet is to place an order 2 weeks in an advance. Especially if you’re asking me to do some custom design!

Can couples get their engagement photos placed on the coasters or magnets?
Engagement photos can absolutely be on magnets and coasters. I’ve used wedding invitations, too, and they turn out really well. It’s a fun way to save your invitation and remember the day.

Where can people purchase your work?
My coasters and magnets are currently for sale in 3 Central Ohio shops: Celebrate Local at Easton, PK Paper in Upper Arlington, and Simply Rising Cafe in Newark. I’m hoping to add some more boutiques to the repertoire soon, but that’s it for now!

One thing to add is that I do not need to have original photos. I can use electronic images for everything. So, nothing gets sacrificed in the creation of the coasters! That’s a big deal for brides who do not want to cut up their invitation, and runners who aren’t ready to totally part with their race bib.

PRIZE: One set of 4 custom coasters and a magnet.
TO ENTER:
1. Comment on this post and tell us what you would put on your coasters.

Get Your Glow On

One of my all time favorite episodes of friends is the one where Ross gets a spray tan. If you haven’t seen it, your missing out, CLICK to watch. Spray tans have come a long way from the horror stories of people looking like Willy Wonka’s Oompa Loompas. Today, spray tans are becoming less scary and more chic. However, getting a custom spray tan is the way to go. People tend to opt for the spray tan booths which are less expensive but they do not have the ability to get certain parts of your body ex: inside legs, your sides, and don’t forget your bum crease (sorry but it’s true).

Whether it’s for prom, a wedding, or just to make yourself feel better, more women (and men!) are getting spray tans. All Things Glow in downtown Dublin, OH at Shamrock Salon. offers an all natural, anti-aging, custom spray tan!!

1. All of the products, made by Infinity Sun, are all-natural and work as an anti-aging agent. No streaks, no Oompa Loompa orange, and it won’t come off on your clothes the next day! Also, they have a Glow on the Go product line that’s great for quick tanning solutions.

2. These products have been featured in several magazines such as O (Oprah’s magazine), Life & Style, and Ok!. Also, several presenters at the Emmy’s were sprayed down with Infinity Sun products.

3. Many celebrities, like Britney Spears and Jessica Alba, swear by Infinity Sun’s products. Spears even had them on her Circus tour!

4. I know what you’re thinking. . .if A-list celebrities are getting sprayed with this stuff, it must cost a fortune. Nope! The cost of getting your glow on is only $30! Keep in mind that, with correct exfoliation before getting sprayed and religious use of moisturizer after a spray tan can last up to two weeks!

5. Wedding coming up? Group discounts are available! For parties of 6+, All Things Glow will come to you to spray you all down and the bride is FREE!

Trend Alert: Balloons!!

Prop balloons are popping up everywhere and I’m loving it! It is such a cute idea for your engagement shoot or even your wedding (if done right). It is important to make sure you use them the right way and get the correct ones, you don’t want it to end up looking cheesy. Don’t want to use them in your pictures? no worries you can give them to your guests to release as you make your exit, add a few to your dessert table as seen below, or add some to the grass outside your venue to dance in the wind.
For 36″ balloons visit balloonfast, they have tons of colors to choose from!

Store-N-Style

While I attended License to Wed with Ivy Robinson back in February she told me about one of her friends Jennifer, she is an artist who makes wall art from invitations. I thought it was such a unique idea! I just found her card today and got on her site again and wanted to share it with you.

Jennifer applies the mementos of your life to a blank canvas and creates a completely unique work of art inspired by your important life moments.

Wedding invitations, anniversary cards, birth announcements- these are the things people often save in a box, out of sight and unable to be enjoyed. Jennifer will transform these and other tangible memories into striking art that can be hung on the wall and cherished day after day.
“My only real goal is to be known for helping others make their most spectacular moments last forever.”
