Doing a themed party is one of my favorite things in the world. I love coming up with creative and new ways to make a party unique. Creating this children’s theme book shower was a lot of fun and took me back to my childhood. Remembering some of the books that I loved as a kid, made me go out and purchase some of them for Lucas. To then get recognized for the work on my favorite blog ever was icing on the cake! Hostess with the Mostess is heaven for those of you into parties and details!

I met Kim 3 years ago when she helped Kinsey and I are on our own. We have since gone back to Kim multiple times and have sent my clients to Travel Partners.

Secrets Meroma is where Kinsey and I went for our honeymoon and it was amazing.

1. What kind of services do you provide when planning a honeymoon? Everything from honeymoon

Destinations, transfers from the airport to the hotel, excursions and honeymoon packages the hotel may offer free.

2. How far in advance does a couple need to contact you in order to schedule their honeymoon?

The best is as far out as possible to achieve the cheapest package, but at least 6 months. Full payment is never required, normally a small $300.00 deposit

3. What is the average cost for a “nice” honeymoon?

$2,700 to $3,200

4. What seems to be the most popular honeymoon destination this year?

Riviera Maya and Hawaii

5. Do you come across a lot of destination weddings? If so, where is the most popular place for them?

Normally Riviera Maya, probably 1 out of 10 are destination weddings.

6. Over the years, has there been any significant change in where couples choose to go?

Vintage, Modern, and Unique

As the wedding season is quickly sneaking up, I wanted to share what trends I’ve come across that will be incorporated in many of 2012′s weddings.

1. Vintage AND Modern–Yep, a combination of vintage beauty and a modern flare is a big wedding trend this year. The super romantic use of delicate lace paired with a contemporary accent, like a ultra sleek seat cover or eccentric centerpiece, is what you should try to go for in order to achieve this trend. These opposites totally attract all the attention that you want on your big day!

2. Bright Jewel Tones–Trendy as well as sophisticated. These words describe the bride who will incorporate bright color blocks in her wedding this year. This is a trend that must be approached carefully because, if you don’t choose the right color pairings, your wedding could potentially go from chic to cheap-looking. It’s important to choose colors on the color spectrum that compliment each other (teal and purple, for example). This look is extremely bold and will definitely grab the attention of your guests!

3. Different Venues–This trend is one major way to make your wedding truly unique. Lately, brides are going out-of-the-box when it comes to choosing the location for the ceremony as well as the reception. Brides are trading in hotel ballrooms for botanical gardens and historic buildings in order to reflect the couples’ personal style and personality.

Regardless if you follow these trends or not, your wedding should be what you want it to be and make sure you incorporate who you are as a couple.

Signature Drink- Taste the Rainbow

I’m obsessed with this concept to brighten up your bar. What’s better then skittles and vodka?

1. Separate your skittles into colors
2. Mix 60 skittles and approx. 180mL vodka in empty water bottles
3. Shake the bottles well and leave them overnight
4. Lots of white residue will be left, filter this out using a coffee filter or similar. Repeat as needed

Chill (in freezer) and serve.
