2016 has been the biggest whirlwind. I am blessed to say this was the biggest year for MMJ so far, with a total of 28 events. I’m still trying to catch up on my sleep, but it was worth it.
January
We kicked off the year with a day of coordination for Primrose and Joe followed by a beautiful Statehouse wedding for Riley and Eryn.
February
Usually an off month for us, we had the opportunity to plan 2 super fun events. We helped our friends over at Pure Barre’s celebrate their 5 year anniversary at the Grandview location. The other was a gender reveal-housewarming party for our past wedding couple Jordan and Natalie. I would love to do another gender reveal, it was so fun!
March and April
We had Luke and Rachel’s wedding at the beautiful Athletic Club of Columbus in Columbus in March, and April was a day of coordination for Andrew and Courtney at the Vue.
May
It was a busy month with Erin and Scott’s wedding at the Downtown Hilton. And a double wedding for Heather and I on the 21st. Heather was at the Athletic Club with Mallory and Ryan. I was at the Columbus Museum of Art with one of my dream clients. Derek and Katie’s white out wedding was a year and a half of planning. Seeing it come together on the day felt like a dream.
June
June kept us on our toes as we reached peak season. Brian and Victoria had a classic wedding at Scioto Country Club. We helped Ethan celebrate his Bar Mitzvah in New Albany. The month ended with another planners dream wedding for Brian and Kara at the Columbus Museum of Art.
July
We had a blast in July. Meleka changed roles and was in a wedding as a bridesmaid, while the MMJ team rocked one of the most amazing Forth of July parties for one of our favorite clients in Jackson Ohio. We also loved being a part of Andrew and Karis wedding at the Darby House. Meleka grew up with the brides family so it was an extra special wedding to plan. Heather enjoyed getting Taylor and Danielle off to marriage bliss at the new Wells Barn.
August
4 events this month had us stocking up on sugar free red bull. We started off with the Wang wedding at the Wells Bar. We were back in Jackson helping a special boy celebrate his 13th birthday beach style. We also should note, that we gave each other pats on the back for planning it in under 7 days. Jessica and Scott got married and celebrated at the Westerville Country Club. A wedding we were over the moon about for Monika and Sam, unfortunately got hit with a massive storm. We literally had tables that flipped over during set-up. Luckily the storm died down just in time, we kicked it into gear, and the tent was beautiful. P.S. there is something kinda romantic about saying your vows in the rain if you ask me.
September
We headed south for a destination wedding for Troy and Bryanna. Such a dream come true to travel to other cities, meet new vendors, and plan in a new place. We came back to Kyle and Sarah’s statehouse wedding the following weekend. Gosh I just loved working with this sweet couple. Heather worked with another sweet couple, Mark and Kaylah, at the Columbus Museum of Art. We ended the month with another fun Bar Mitzvah, this time for Ethan at Camp Mary.
October
We started to catch our breath in October. We celebrated Michael and Jackie’s wedding at the Hilton Easton, and ended the month back in Jackson with a killer Halloween party. Halloween was so fun it needed two photos. Me with the queen of parties Rebekah, and our team getting in the spirit.
November
We slept! And well since slowing down isn’t really in our nature we started a sister company to MMJ called Aiden and Grace. Now a speciality rental company for wedding and events in Columbus. We did a stylized shoot at Highline Car House with one of our 2017 brides.
December
We got to celebrate the holidays with two amazing companies. First we did a staff holiday party for Pure Barre at the ACC bowling alley. A week later it was time for the customer appreciation party at the studios. That leaves us with event number 28 which was a holiday party for the clients and staff of Everhart Advisors. Yay!
We are so so grateful for an incredible year and all of our amazing clients. We are looking forward to 2017, we plan on taking on a lot less events next year to give ourselves a little more family time, take a vacation, and get A&G off the ground. We hope you and your loved ones have a Happy New Year.
