We are back in the office today after a fun and relaxing Christmas break. We hope you all enjoyed your holiday. To kick off the new website we wanted to show you photo’s from last years couple Ethan and Missy. They had a Christmas inspired black tie affair at the Westin Columbus. It was truly one of my favorite ballroom weddings. It was festive, romantic, and moody. Style and Story Creative did an amazing job of capturing all the feels.
Guests received a classic letterpress invitation from the talented Ink and Ivory. Each invitation was delivered with vintage Christmas postage to set the tone for the Christmas inspired wedding.
Music played an important role in Ethan and Missy’s wedding. A full choir performed during their ceremony at First Congregational church. The sound in that church gave me the biggest goose bumps. I’m going to have to start suggesting choirs to all of my clients. A pianist from New York played Christmas music during the cocktail hour, and a 15 piece band from Atlanta kicked the reception off.
Can we take a minute to swoon over the detailing of the back of her dress.
These blooms were designed by Ashby Floral. They could not have been more perfect for our vibe.
Ethan and Missy live in New York and wanted to pull some of that NY feel into the reception. Missy would describe the feel she was wanting as an intimate dinner party with soft lighting, lots of candle light, and a dark and romantic vibe. We accomplished that with taper candles, dark linens, and perfecting the uplighting. Of course you can’t have a Christmas inspired wedding without a tree.
One of my favorite details of the day were the favors. Glass Christmas ornaments were boxed, tied, tagged, and topped with holly and waited for guests under the Christmas tree.
A lush green and burgundy garland and large candelabras created a dramatic look for Ethan and Missy’s head table.
When looking back at this wedding, the one thing I’ll always remember is using 600 yards of ribbon to tie each guest place setting into what looks like a package. My MMJ girls and I practiced until our bow skills were on point.
Now for a second pause to take in all the beauty that is the art of Scarlett with Miam Cakes. The detailing on this cake was mind blowing.
Don’t let all the romantic glow and black tie feels confuse you, this group definitely knew how to have fun. The Perfect 10 Band from Atlanta is one of the best I have ever seen. The party was one for the books.
As always thankful to the talented group of vendors who made this possible and my MMJ girls xo
Merry Christmas!!
