High Line Car House Wedding in Columbus, OH for the Branan’s

I can’t believe it’s been a whole year since Katie and Jeremy got married! So much has happened for this sweet couple in a year.  We’ll get to that later….but first, all about their beautiful fall wedding!

Katie and Jeremy live in Nashville but were having their wedding in Columbus. As soon as Katie contacted me, I fell in love (I get how it happened, Jeremy!). She is such a sweet girl, one that just always lifts you up and makes you feel good. Needless to say, she was a joy to work with.

With the two of them living in Nashville, most of our communicating was done over the phone and email, and a few meetings when they were in town. We did get to meet on their turf for a coffee date once early on in the planning process when I was doing a destination wedding in Nashville.

Katie and her sweet tribe had their hair done by The Bride Bar, and Almaz did their make up. How gorg are they??

Ink and Ivory created the most stunning faded water color design for their invite, incorporating all of our event colors of burgundy, blush and gold.

Posy is the master woman behind the florals of the day, sticking with mostly whites and greens and adding in a pop of burgundy and blush. I had this vision of the flowers coming up from the floor, and she nailed it per usual.

All aspects of the wedding were downtown Columbus at the venue High Line Car House. The ceremony and reception were inside while the cocktail hour was outside.

The ceremony was inside the space and we transformed it to create more of a ceremonial feel. We used white columns from Aiden and Grace to create an aisle and drapery and florals to create an altar for the bridal party.

While we flipped the inside of the venue for the reception, cocktail hour was going on outside. We brought in two bars (decorated beautifully by Auburn and Ivory) with a fully stocked bar back and a champagne rack. Hor Devours were passed around by Two Caterers- their food is ALWAYS a favorite by guests!

The table seating cards matched the invitation with the blush and burgundy watercolor and gold writing. This color palette still has me swooning.

Katie handed me the reigns for the design and planning of the day which was SO much fun for me. Bringing their ultimate vision to life, and getting to show them the final product on the day of is one of my favorite moments.

The guest’s tables had an array of floral center pieces varying in height and dimension so that the room had height and depth. Using mirrored cubes to lift compotes as well as tall vases helped us achieve this look.

The sweethearts had their own sweetheart table, with two burgundy accent chairs from Aiden and Grace.

Can we talk about this cake??? Short North Piece of Cake did a beautiful job mimicking the burgundy water color of the invitation with gold and floral accents. A masterpiece.

During the planning process Katie’s dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer. My job became to assure Katie that we would do absolutely whatever we needed to do to ensure that he would be there. I was ready to move everything up if need be.

By the grace of God he was able to make it to the wedding, which was such a gift to Katie in and of itself. He was able to walk his daughter down the aisle and have an anniversary dance with his wife, as they were celebrating their 37th wedding anniversary 2 days after the wedding.

This wedding was one of my favorites. Which is why I was so excited when it was featured in The Knot magazine this summer so that everyone could enjoy the beauty of this wedding!

And now, there’s THREE! Their family is already growing and Katie and Jeremy will be the best parents to this sweet little one 🙂 It was truly so much fun to get to work with this couple. Wishing you so much love and happiness, happy anniversary!
